What is the Microsoft Activation Wizard?
The Activation Wizard is a tool added to Microsoft Office to simplify the process of legally licensing various versions of Office. The company asks you to activate your copy of the product to verify the legality of your installation.
Why is Office activation necessary?
Microsoft activation is one of the main anti–piracy technologies used by the tech giant to limit the use of illegal products.
Activation opens the full functionality of Office (note that access to some functions is blocked before activation).
In addition, Microsoft sometimes offers discounts on its products, usually for users who have purchased genuine products.
How does it work?
Activation of the Microsoft product confirms that the office product is used only on the number of computers allowed by the license agreement.
The actual activation involves entering the provided 25-digit product key or digital signature in your account. Activation via the Internet, from Office applications or by phone.
Who should activate Microsoft Office?
While the activation wizard appears, your Office must be activated – a failure, as a result of which it finally becomes unlicensed, leads to the disabling of all editing functions.
Users who purchase their PCs with an existing Office product (Office 365, 2016 and 2019) from a PC manufacturer must activate their offices through a Microsoft Account (MSA).
Those who don't have an MSA are redirected to create an account the first time they open Office.
However, there are some computer manufacturers that activate their Microsoft software before releasing their PCs to the market.

Method 1: from inside the program
Launch the Office program so that the Microsoft Office Activation Wizard appears.

How to determine if you need to activate your Office 2013, 2016, 2019 and 365
First, if your Office app is not activated, it will ask you to log in when you open it. Do this using the account details you used to purchase or subscribe.

Just follow the instructions by selecting "I want to activate via the Internet" (the best method), and then select Next.
What about phone activation?
Select the phone activation option in the wizard and click "Next".
Select your country/region.
Call the Office Product Activation Center phone number listed on the screen under the selected country/region.
Read the installation ID shown in Step 2 above when the product activation center asks for it. The center will give you a confirmation. Enter this in the provided location.

Activating the Office that was pre-installed with your Windows 10 device
Office 365 is sometimes pre-installed for the Home trial on your new device. In this case, you will see the following prompt when you log in:

Option 1 . Activate the 1-month trial version of Office 365 Home. Just click Launch Office 365 Trial.
Option 2 . Buy Office 2013/2016/2019 (or your favorite Office) by following the simple prompts.
Option 3 . Enter the product key from the product key card you bought at the retail store.
Option 4 . Install an older licensed copy of Office, if you have one.
Activation of Microsoft Office editions included in the purchase of 10 new Windows devices
Some new Windows 10 devices include an annual office subscription or a one-time office copy purchase (as part of the price). Activation offers remain valid for 180 days (from the date of activation of a copy of Windows 10).
